Margaux- Cantenac, December 08, 2020 – The Lamont group is pleased to cooperate with Château Prieuré-Lichine, fourth Grand Cru Classé 1855.
On December 08, 2020, the Lamont group met the Château Prieuré-Lichine team. This interview took place in the presence of Madame Latrille, Sales and Communication Director and Mr. Charrier, Technical Director and Oenologist of Château Prieuré-Lichine.
High quality wine production and exceptional know-how. These common values gave birth to this alliance between Lamont and the Château Prieuré-Lichine.
The primary objective is to make the culture of the great Bordeaux wines, and in particular the Margaux appellation, known to Chinese consumers.
The second is to provide commercial support and distribution support for this complimentary wine “Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine”.
“Confidences de Prieuré-Lichine” is developed by Etienne Charrier in consultation with the consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt.
This wine is made from young vines, it reveals a deep color, a nose full of fruit. We discover with finesse the touch of Margalais, a delicious and silky wine.
The birth of this alliance can be explained by the shared passion for growing vines, but also through the common desire to develop and promote renowned wines.
Let us wish good success to this beautiful alliance, rich in sharing!
About the Château Prieuré-Lichine
The prestigious Château Prieuré-Lichine Grand Cru Classé 1855 is located in the heart of the Margaux appellation. This former Benedictine priory, formerly called the “Priory of Cantenac” was founded in the 14th century by the monks of the Vertheuil abbey and wine production was already established. Many of the Church will remain until the French Revolution.
Subsequently, the Château Prieuré de Cantenac knew several private owners until the acquisition in 1951 by Alexis Lichine, nicknamed the “Pope of wine”. In 1953, he gave his name to the property by renaming the cru Château Prieuré-Lichine.
Today, Château Prieuré-Lichine is owned by the Ballande Group, which perpetuates the work of the land and the tradition of hospitality established by Alexis Lichine. The vineyard covers 80 hectares spread over the 5 municipalities of the Margaux appellation.
