Château l’Enclos Réserve 2018

8,50

Red Dark young ruby with a purple hue, showing good medium depth, limpid and luminous. The fresh nase, dapper and dashing, develops aromas of very ripe fruit (raspberries, strawberries, cherries) but also some tangy fruit flaveurs which bring freshness as well as a touch of liquorice. Very supple and greedy on the palate from an attractive expression of fruit. A touch of firmness and a good length on fruity and tangy notes.

Built in the 17th century, Château L’Enclos is a true representation of the richness and elegance of Bordeaux’s historical and cultural heritage.

Sustainable farming practices, with HVE certification (High Environmental Value).

Average yield: 50 hectoliters per hectare. Average age of vines: 30 years.

After a relatively wet winter, a very rainy spring followed, which caused coulure and millerandage during flowering. This was compounded by significant pressure from diseases (downy mildew), which proved difficult to manage. Then came summer with its dry weather and persistent heatwaves (+40°C) at the end of July and beginning of August, leading to sunburn on the overexposed berries. Despite these challenges, the harvest took place under optimal conditions, with grapes picked at the peak of their potential.

Separate vinification of grape varieties in temperature controlled stainless steel conical tanks, extended maceration (25 days), one-week pre-fermentation maceration at 8°C, and post-fermentation maceration. Aging for 10 months in wood.
